Hyderabad/Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (IATA: HYD) at Hyderabad was opened in 2008 and handles about 7 million passengers a year. It is the sixth busiest airport in India by overall passenger traffic.

The airport is located at Shamshabad, about 30 km (19 mi) south of Hyderabad. It takes one to two hours to reach the airport from the city center depending on the traffic situation.

The Hyderabad airport is a single building housing both domestic and international terminals. The airports hotel was opened in 2008. The Novotel Hyderabad Airport Hotel has 305 rooms and suites, featuring Wi-Fi, executive amenities, restaurants, two bars and meeting rooms. The hotel also has a SPA and fitness centre.

The airport facilities include shopping area, duty free outlets, 13 business class lounges, restaurants, cafés, snack bars, Information desk and help desk, free Buggy services at International and Domestic Departure areas, etc. Smoking lounges are available at Departures and Arrivals. Outside the arrivals hall there is a paid visitors area with food and beverages stalls, called Airport Village designed for people to receive their guests. Information desk and help desks are also available. Free Wi-Fi access is available for 45 min. Users need to provide mobile number as password is sent by text message. Passengers without Indian mobile phone number can obtain a password from the TATA Teleservices Help desk.

Pushpak – Airport Liner operated by Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (“APSRTC") / Telangana State Road Transport Corporation ("TSRTC”) offer air conditioned low floor bus services between airport and the city with about 11 pickup points from the city. The buses run every 30 minutes from 3.30 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. and every hour after that.
